Keaton Roch

Keaton Roch was born and raised in the beautiful city of Nelson BC. Growing up he always had a passion for math and sciences which led him to engineering. After high school, he took his first year of engineering at Selkirk College. From there, Keaton transferred to UBC Okanagan to complete his BASc in Mechanical Engineering. During his BASc, he built a good relationship with one of his professors, Dr. Hadi Mohammadi. Following the graduation of his undergrad degree, he started his MASc working under Mohammadi in the Heart Valve Performance Laboratory.

Keaton is working on researching and developing confined space visual inspection drones operating in harsh environments. These include acidic and toxic environments as well as in extreme temperatures. Keaton hopes this thesis project will further develop his array of skills as a mechanical engineer, thanks to the wide variety of subcomponents required. He’s striving to complete his MASc by December 2020.
