Arpin Bhullar

Arpin Bhullar grew up in Squamish, BC, and always knew he wanted to be an engineer. After high school, he started his BASc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus. During his undergraduate, he completed a 12-month co-op position at KEAI Biomedical Research and discovered his interest in biomedical engineering. After completing his BASc, he started a MASc in Mechanical Engineering under Dr. Hadi Mohammadi at UBCO working towards developing a new generation of mechanical heart valves. He took part in a new cross-campus curriculum and studied Biomedical Engineering at the UBC Vancouver Campus.

Arpin is working towards completing his MASc in 2019 and is looking forward to continuing his research in developing the Okanagan Valve alongside Dr. Mohammadi at UBCO. Arpin hopes to one day work as a biomedical engineer in the cardiovascular field and to develop new technologies that improve the lives of patients worldwide.
